Could malpractice reform save the health care system?

Majority of lawyers that represent individuals argue against tort reform says it will prevent patients from being protected against negligence. Doctors push for reform saying it protect patients from having to pay the costs of malpractice insurance and increases services. The federal government has refrained from addressing the issue due to being a political and emotional challenge.

An article was published in the Journal Health Affairs that argues it might be time for the government to step in. Tort reform is implemented at the federal level. For example, physicians might have to accept an accelerated movement away. This will benefit patients and will pave the way for better and affordable health care.
